SailMaine Regatta raises funds to fund sailing lessons accessible to all

The second annual SailMaine Festival and Regatta was held Saturday in Casco Bay. It was a full day of festivities with a boat parade, race, awards ceremony and banquet. SailMaine offers affordable sailing lessons with the goal of making sailing accessible to everyone of all ages and abilities. “SailMaine’s mission is to provide affordable access to water through community sailing and educational programs,” said Michael McAllister, SailMaine’s Executive Director. “Our vision is that sailing is a vehicle for personal growth and development for young people in the region.” Eighty sailors took part in the regatta.
