Marco Island Yacht Club Announces Summer Sailing Lessons for Youth | Clubs And Organizations

The Marco Island Yacht Club has opened registration for this summer’s youth sailing lessons, and all parents and grandparents in the community are invited to register their children.

The Marco Island Yacht Club waterfront is a beautiful place where young islanders can learn the joys and skills of sailing.

“Youth Sailing is aimed at children aged seven to twelve, and we offer courses for beginners and intermediates,” said Dwyn von Bereghy, MIYC Sailing Fleet Captain. “We have seven weekly classes starting June 6 and ending the week of August 1.”

The beginner class meets in the morning from 9:00 a.m. to noon and the intermediate class meets in the afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Young sailors can register for one week or several weeks. There will be no classes the week of July 4th.

“Whether you’re enrolling your own kids or visiting grandkids or other guests, you’ll be teaching them one of life’s best lessons and pleasures,” von Bereghy said.
